Creditor claim period calculator for executors, by state

Pick your state and the date notice to creditors was first given or published. The calculator shows the creditor claim period that official sources state for your state, the calendar date it points to, and the source. It is educational only, not legal advice: probate rules have exceptions, so confirm with the court or a lawyer.

How to keep these papers

Keep dated copies of the papers you already have in one place, and write the day something happened on the same day. KeepMyProof is a private phone app for that: folders with checklists, the day it happened next to the day you saved it, and one PDF of a folder when someone asks.

Questions

Is this date when the estate can close?

Not necessarily. It is the date that falls the stated period after the date you entered. Courts may set other dates. Confirm with the probate court or a lawyer.

Where do these periods come from?

Each one is copied from an official source, linked under the result, and checked on the date shown.

What if my state is not listed?

We list a state only when its official sources passed our check. Open your county probate court website instead.
