Discrimination charge deadline calculator, by state

Pick your state and the date something happened at work. The calculator shows each filing time limit that official federal and state sources state for your state, the calendar date it points to, and the source. It is educational only, not legal advice: deadlines have exceptions, so confirm yours with the agency or a lawyer.

Educational only. Not legal advice.

How to keep these papers

Keep dated copies of the papers you already have in one place, and write the day something happened on the same day. KeepMyProof is a private phone app for that: folders with checklists, the day it happened next to the day you saved it, and one PDF of a folder when someone asks.

Questions

Is the date shown my legal deadline?

Not necessarily. It is the date that falls the stated number of days after the date you entered. Deadlines can start on a different day or have exceptions. Confirm yours with the EEOC, your state agency or a lawyer.

Where do these time limits come from?

Each one is copied from an official source, linked under the result, and checked on the date shown. Only facts that passed our source check appear.

What if my state is not listed?

We list a state only when its official sources passed our check. Open the EEOC time limits page or your state civil rights agency instead.
